Uploading files is very important in developing websites, but sometimes large file upload can cause errors on WordPress. To increase the upload limit in WordPress follow my steps below.
First, read my previous article on how to create .htaccess. This is what you should put inside .htaccess file.
<IfModule mod_php5.c> php_value post_max_size 40M php_value upload_max_filesize 25M php_value memory_limit 500M </IfModule>
We have increase the upload limit on post and pages to 40MB, imported XML file to 25MB, and the memory limit for the whole site to 500MB.
Make sure that you save the .htaccess file in the main directory, same place where wp-content, wp-admin, wp-includes folders are located.
